Mission statement:

"Our aim is to promote a more physically active community through the provision of quality recreational opportunities."

Background information:

The Rangiora Recreation centre as it was formally known was Built in 1985 as a multi purpose indoor centre to cater for the needs of both the community and the Rangiora High School. The centre was funded by the combined efforts of local government, the Ministry of Education, the Lotteries board, along with the fundraising efforts of the local community. The centre was constructed in response to a shortage of recreational space for the community, and since has been run by the North Canterbury Sport and Recreation Trust. The centre is a non profit organisation that operates specifically to benefit the community by offering services and opportunities that otherwise would not be available to the community.
