OVER 90.9 KG's LOST IN 4 WEEKS!
The 2012 North Canterbury Biggest Loser competition had its second weigh in after 4 weeks of intense training and nutritional changes.
The two teams in the challenge have proven how much they all wanted to stay in the game with some amazing results, losing a massive combined total of 90.9kgs between the 10 competitors, making for an average weight loss of 9.09kgs each. Everyone has done really well with three competitors losing over 10 percent of their body weight in only 4 weeks and three losing over 8 percent.
Unfortunately two competitors from the Red team were unable to continue due to injuries, and it was too close to the weigh in to bring in replacements. Now the top 3 competitors from each team who lost the highest percentage of body weight will continue on with the competition. They will continue following a healthy nutritional plan, doing three team training sessions a week with the McAlpines Mitre 10 Mega Sports Centre Personal Trainers, plus their own workouts, many of them spotted at the gym multiple times a day.
Their main goal now is to be the number one team at the midway weigh in and prize giving on April 18th. As all the participants showed such great motivation and commitment they have been given gym membership until the end of the competition and may be called back in if a remaining competitor is unable to continue. So check out the phenomenal results below and keep an eye on the Northern Outlook for the next instalment.
Biggest Loser 2011
The North Canterbury's Biggest Loser competition has now had its final weigh in for 2011.
2011 has been a big year for all 6 contestants in the North Canterbury Biggest Loser competition, between them they have lost a massive 148.2kgs making for an average weight loss of 24.7kg. This has been our biggest total weight loss to date, just ahead of 2008 where we had a total of 141.6kgs.
It’s been a huge year for Red Team member Angeline Walker who has led throughout the competition and was named the 2011 North Canterbury Biggest Loser. Angeline, a mother of five children was inspirational in her passionate and enthusiastic approach to the competition, always ready to give 100% she really fought hard to stay in the lead. She lost 34.1kgs which was 31.75% of her body weight, an average weekly weight loss of 2.27kg and 8.64% ahead of her nearest competition. Angeline was lucky enough as part of her winners package to get some beautiful photos taken. Many thanks to BodySeen (hair, makeup and outfit) and Penny Nichols Photography for their sponsorship of the event.
